about SR2M diode...

In some TVs like Onida and Samsung, provide safety to the horizontal out put section by putting a

zener diode popularly known as SR2M. The appearance of the diode is as same as normal diode but the name will be as sr2m. In case Tv having dead problem just check SR2M diode near horizontal output transistor. If it is shorted remove and check the horizantal output transistor if it is OK, remove horizantal output transistor and check for the out put of power supply if it is normal then replace with new sr2m and switch on the set.This SR2M is like a zener diode.

If higher voltage comes it will regulate, if exceeds it gets shorted and protects HOT section.
