Line outputput transformer is a very important part of the horizontal output section.Using the power from the power supply and the signal from the horizontal section the LOT generates high voltages used for lightning the picture tube also supplies to other section as well.

Also your multiple talent astonished me. I have some dought regarding Transistor that is some transistor shows short from base to emmitor. even in new pieces purchaced from market.but if I

put it into board it will work.

Thanks for the support.

The type of transistor you had asked doubt about is a special kind of transistor.

Even though it appears to be a single transistor, it is combination of two transistor as shown in figure.

if the understanding the figure is difficult, then you think that there is a diode connected between collector and emmitor and a resistor connected from base to emmitor, and test thinking like that.

COllector to emmitor it should behave like a diode if u test.

also from base to emmitor it will show some 40-100 ohms.

To give an idea the name of diode will contain "D". ex : 2SD2188, D546 like that

Need of discharging main capacitor.

While servicing any SMPS please be sure that always you have to

discharge the power of main filter capacitor before starting any cold test to

any component with multimeter.

nevertheless the TV is switched off,many times the main filter will be storing the high

voltage nearly 400v DC.

(1)In many cases if SMPS is using STR,if you short ine pin to another,STR

may get spoiled due to high voltage stored in main filter.

(2)You also may get a "Electric-Kiss" from main filter.

(3)It may also spoil other components.

so always before doing any "cold test" in SMPS please,please,please discharge

the main capacitor.

Then the question arises how to discharge the main capacitor.?

It is very simple, you need a bulb. just touch two point of

of bulb to two points of main cpacitor. If there is a voltage storage

bulb will glow for 1 or 2 seconds.By this it makes main capacitor

discharged.
