Hint for audio OK,No video problem

Most of the time in TV servicing TV s come with audio OK,No video problem.
My kind suggestion is before going into trouble shooting video and H-out section, slightly increase screen control of LOT. Due to vertical failure some time it will be h-line. Due to less screen that H-line will be invisible.
If it is H line trouble shoot vertical section else as usual.

L G T. V a strange problem(exclusive in e-care blog)

There was an LG TV came for repair. The problem was the TV gets switched on initially runs for
10-15 mins then suddenly comes to stand by position.
Initially as usual I thought it was a dry dry solder. I thoroughly checked for dry solder. but the soldering on the board was also almost OK. I touched up all the crucial soldering points for safer side. Then I swished on TV , after 10 mins it came to stand by position.
Then I checked out with my senior who have a 25 years of electronic exp. He told in LG tv this type of problem occured before to him also . The cure is nothing but replacing LDT(line driver transformer).
Then I did the same. I replaced LDT .
TV is working fine now.
In e-care service centre we repair 4-5 TVs average a day. other than that many nos of other electronic devices. Sharing all the experience gives a happiness. But time doesn't permit.
Any way next time when u come across same problem with LG tv. Just replace LDT. and say thanks to my seniour frnd.

About waste e-books

I have seen many websites selling e-books related to electronic troubleshooting.
Even to test the contents I have purchased 2 e-books also. Then I got shocked compared to
the hype given to the e-book the contents of the e-book was nothing.
So please think before purchasing such kind of e-books.
When there is huge information is available on almost all the topics why to waste money on that.
And also I want to tel you another thing one good multi-meter itself is enough to trouble shoot all the problems of electronic devices according to my 8 years of experience.
so don't get tempted to buy waste e-books and self designed tools.
Even I have recieved threatening e-mails when I declared to publish free e-book.
They thought I may disturb their business.
Any way I am free of many busy schedule now....
You can expect more postings in this blog...
Thanks and regards

Profession of electronics repair

Chapter -1

Profession of electronics repair

By- M G Raghavendra Kumar

Disclaimer : No copy right, free to edit, circuilate.

Hi every one,

This is the first chapter I am sending you people. I had an idea of comprising all the details of electronic repair document in to one whole book, but of late I joined by a senior friend who gave me a different enlightenment of electronics and related business. So, I decided to go step by step. My first chapter will teach you how establish a service centre, also how to establish yourself as a good technician in your locale. It is very important to learn how to manage all the work pressure given by the trouble-shooting process and also customer handling.

If you learn only repair you cannot be a successful technician. You should also be a good business man to establish and popularize your business. I hope all the best for your future endeavor as well as learning process.

You take any business it consists two parts

1) Process part

2) Business part

In the process part we always have the actual work to the customer and in the second part we will have the business. Person who lacks one cannot run any successful business. So, it becomes crucial to any person to get expertise the in the process as well as business.

In the field of electronics in the process part we have component testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aspects, in the business part we have customer handling, establishment process, money making as well as advertisement part.

In this first chapter I am going to describe you how to establish the business and handle the customer as well as building your business network.

I am going deeply and consistently. Don’t be hurry in the process of learning.

I just wanted to share some field experience. The main intention of this chapteris to learn and teach. The profession of this electronics is always a challenging one. There is a pressure from customer side. They are very much addicted to the entertainment devices like TV s and Music systems. They always expect speedy service from your side. They also want the device to be repaired perfectly. They also expect you to repair the device if it gets a problem again with in a short period of time without any payment.

This is one side of the challenge. Another side is the technical one. You need to service them correctly after trouble shooting. But my sincere advice is if you are really capable of doing that you can earn a lot. People don't mind paying any amount of bill if they are satisfied once. Also I advice technicians to learn how to service washing machine and freezers, They are easy to repair and can bring good money also.

And about income, don't run a charity business. Be strict about the financial issues. Also try having good customer links. Once if u find they are good people try give the best.

They will refer you to other people.

Also distribute hand bills and News paper ads in local market to get more customers. Have visiting cards always with you. Whenever you meet new ppl give your card.

The repair career of any electronics is very good if you have a craze for it. Try to be professional always. Always have good relation with other technicians. Always inform the customer about the total bill through telephone if it needs to be of more cost.

The knowledge is your strength.

If you have any queries regarding customer handling please feel free to ask me.

The general tips I want to share with you people are as follows.

1) Don’t attempt any kind of service when you are in hurry and restless.

2) Don’t work under pressure.

3) Please make sure that, you have kept all the necessary tools nearby you before starting the service work.

4) If you have circuit diagram and the IC details of the circuit with you, please refer first before staring any service.

5) After opening the system, carefully at least for five minutes search thoroughly for any dry joints, loose connections, burnt components, bulged capacitors.

6) Also keep in mind that, most sensitive components in any electronic circuit are the semiconductor components like Transistors, ICs, Diodes and if used fuse and fusible resistor.

7) Most of the time the loose contact inside the selector switch (if used) will be the main faulty component in the circuit. Above method can be used to correct the selector switch.

8) Don’t hesitate to ask any senior about the doubts you are having.

9) Whenever a senior starts working on the circuit board, keenly observe him what he does, how he trouble shoots. Also learn the techniques which you found use full.

10) In order to get the good results always put good quality components.

Above are some key points in order to ease the work.

From next week I will be sending you all the e- book’s content section by section. Until then please be prepared with the knowledge of electronic components checking.

book in bookshop for that field we are like Island. Many Tv Computers
DVD,Radio and many item die because of lack of knowledge and education
on how we can repair step by step.
God now hear our cry and send you to help us to free us on this
Island,God will help you and you will get more and more.

"Sony" I miss you very much

All my work in this blog is dedicated my lovely dog "sony". We brought it at its 4 th day after birth.
Its mother and all other mates died because of poisoning by government corporation officials.
It lived with our family for 14 years. It was our family member for 14 years. I lost it 6 months back. I felt like I lost a brother. Of course it was my brother. It died due to old age problems. Doctors consoled me that it had reached its maximum age no need to worry much. need to be strong. In my life I learnt a lot from this dog. I came to know what is real friendship. Its memories will always kill me like any anything.
I pray god to send my 'sony' as my child. "Sony I miss you very much"

HI RAGHAVENDRA

i missed my cat and i know your feeling but this is the destiny of all creatures in this world as well as humans me and you sooner or later.specially in recent years because of earth quakes ,wars.storms, tsunamis etc...to leave this world getting easier and sooner
i recommend you bring a new dog same race this will help you to forget better

Remote control servicing.

Hi All,
It is very easy to service a remote control.
In order to check whether problem is with remote or TV, you only need a remote checkker, a small devise. Just plug the remote chekker in to electric point and operate the remote. If remote is working and sending signal tehn the led in the remote chekker will produce light and also give a "Krr...Krr" sound. If you dont have remote checker not a problem, even if you have a mobile phone(having camera option) with that also you can check remote. For doing that you only have to need is to switch on the camera option and operate the remote in front of pthone camera lense, if the remote is working you can see a light.
Once if you are cinformed that remote is not working , then check for the batteries. Try to operate other remote using same batteries. If you have spare batteries check the remote after inserting new batteries.
If remote is not working with new batteries, now this is the time to open t remote.
See if there are any dry solders, or any oily content collected on contact points. For clarity clean the board with thinner liquid.
Now if there are no dry solders , just replace the crystal oscilator. This crystal osilator is very sensitive and many if you drop remotes, this can get spoiled. Now it should work other wise ,
replace with IR-generator (It appears like a LED but ii is not LED, Please DONT replace LED for this).
Now you have done what ever possible things you can do.
As my experience After replacing crystal it should work.

After all these the remote is not working means please advise the customer to buy new one.

Please wait for Ten more days.because I wanted to give more surprise.

Hi All,
As I promised I was suppose to post e-books to all 461 seekers. But fortunately I joined by an expert who have worked 15 years for a TV company as service department head as well as a business developer. For my luck he agreed to work on e-book. Now he is optimising the e-book and also putting his own content. So, I promise you this will be a bible for TV service.
For all these things please give me 10 more days.

Hi Kumar,

Long time did not hear from you. I would like to know if the CRT ebook that you have posted in your blog belongs to Mr Humphrey? If it yes then i suggest that you take it down because giving other people ebook for free is unethical. This is his hard work (whether you like him or not) and i hope you can consider taking it down. Thanks!

Hi Mr. Jestineyong,
As I am an editor of a Technical magazine I surely Know it is un-ethical as well as illegal to post somebody's e-book or any other resources.Absolutely there is no relation between my e-care's e-book to any other e book.
Also I want to tell you with respect is, the field of electronics is loosing technical candidates
off late due to the complex nature of this profession.
so my total idea is to make the knowledge of this electronics troubleshooting as the open source. We are earning through servicing and we learnt from seniors and very low cost books. But after seeing the cost of the e-books I strongly got astonished. they are very costly. Even we don't pay for printing also.I have seen many e book's contents also, where there is no match between cost and the content.
Thats why I decided to make all the electronics knowledge as open source.
I know it may disturb somebody's business. But, I am no where related to that.
Because as they have right to sell their knowledge even I posses right give my Knowledge at free of cost.
As this is the conversation is related to my blog I want this should be transparent and in order to make these conversation transparent I am publishing this in the blog also.
Thanks and regards

Don't play with mother earth

Japan is now paralyzed. One of its part ruined in the water. Thousands lost their lives. It has left un-consolable pain in the entire humankind. But, in this crucial we need to think standing at another point. They played with nature. They made a historical mistake by depending on the nuclear power for the growth of the country. They lost it an a single day.
The main basic rule is science is a part of nature but nature is part of science.
Japanese after knowing the hazardous character of atomic energy they built surplus nuclear reactors. Now it is coming to light that the precautions were very minimum.
It is a lesson to mankind which is trying to play with mother nature.
'Hey man to whom you are challenging?' this is the mother nature's question.
